Burglar On Home Security Video Stares At Sleeping Toddler

Here is a scary one for you.  Burglar caught on video staring at a sleeping toddler.  As reported by a local network station  in Houston:

A startling home surveillance video captured a burglar sneaking into a suburban Houston family’s home and staring at their 2-year-old boy, reports KHOU-TV. the video, seen above, was recorded around 5am on April 5th.The unidentified suspect entered the the Katy home through an unlocked window, says the report.

What appears to be a teenage burglar is seen walking into and out of the baby’s room several times. He even points a flashlight at the sleeping toddler.

“I was infuriated when I saw him walking back and forth in my baby’s room. My stomach was turning,” said the child’s father, Thinh Le. “He’s my world. I love him.”

Le and the child’s mother slept the entire time. They don’t know why the burglar intruder was drawn to the boy’s room, which is located upstairs from their bedroom.

The burglar apparently broke into another house in the same neighborhood that night.“My boy thought it was me so he went back to sleep,” Le told the station. “If he made noise or cried and I went upstairs,

something else could happen.”

“I was sleeping. My dog started barking at the top of the stairs,” Crystal Cox told KHOU. “My boyfriend thought his bark sounded different so he switched the light on.”

The suspect fled, she says, and they found abandoned stolen items on their front yard. Cox found Le’s phone number in a stolen laptop bag and contacted him.

She was shocked when Le showed her the surveillance video.  “He had no problem being in someone’s house, knowing that they were home asleep. That takes a lot of nerve,” she said.

Neighbors believe the same person is responsible for a string of robberies in the area.

Police made the video public because they are hoping someone will recognize the suspect, who is believed to be 16-18-years-old.
